Dresser Roots A Body Meter Test Assistance
Nelson Technologies visited a customers Meter Shop who was proving some A Body Temperature Compensated Meters. The customer was not getting proper test results from the meters so Nelson Technologies and GE-Dresser provided technical assistance. The problem was that the customer had a Temperature Compensated Meter, but they were missing the Temperature Compensated Dial on the Index. The Temperature Compensated Dial has multiple Black and White Lines that the Infrared Scanner reads while proving the meter, and the customer was trying to Test using the Non-Compensated Dials.
After diagnosis we had the customer install the Temperature Compensated Dial shown in the second picture, and prove the meter using the Temperature Compensated Dial. The meter passed its test and was put back on the shelf for later installation. |

Rebuild 4" Becker On Off Actuated Ball ValveNelson Technologies joined Becker Precision Equipment at a customers site in Northern MN late April for a rebuild of a 4" On Off Actuated Ball Valve. This particular valve had been in service for over a decade, and had a slow stem leak on the ball valve that was repaired.
This is an Emergency On Off actuated ball valve monitoring the gas line feeding a power plant. This particular valve is set to trip on a high pressure and low pressure trip point. |
Natural Gas Regulator Station to Silver Bay Power PlantWorking with an engineering firm and Silver Bay Power, Nelson Technologies helped design, and provided all equipment for a regulation station feeding two generators creating 132 Megawatts of power at the Silver Bay Power Plant in Silver Bay, MN.
The Silver Bay Power Plant is a small piece of the Cliffs NR Taconite Plant that is also on location. The Taconite Plant turns the Taconite into Iron Ore where it is then shipped by boat via Lake Superior or inland by railway. |

Mooney FlowMax and Slam Shut on Grain DryerLast year we had numerous Grain Dryer applications with our customers across the Mid West. The pictures on the left are from a new Grain Dryer in South Dakota.
This customer used a Mooney Flowmax Regulator for its high capacity at low differentials to meet the demands of the Grain Dryer. For over-pressure protection this customer chose a Stand Alone Mooney Slam Shut valve. A Slam Shut is used to prevent having a relief valve blowing gas near a grain dryer that is operated by a large burner. |
Bleed Gas to fuel Catalytic HeaterThis project was an installation of the Becker Bleed to Catalytic system. This particular customer has Becker control valves, and the Becker bleed to catalytic systems takes the actuation bleed gas and uses it to feed the catalytic pilot preheaters.
